If you are just using it for cleaning you might consider using M.A.P. Equal parts, peroxide, Murphy's oil soap, and alcohol For alcohol I use denatured or Heet in the yellow bottle. (might not be available to southerners.) Here's my Moose milk recipe , but I've never actually used it. 16 water. 1 peroxide.

I use three products for this in order. I start with Ballistol, then Shenandoah Valley Cleaner, and then some Moose Milk. I cut my patch material in 2" wide by 36" long out of the .018 denim I get in several yards. I roll them up and put 4 or 5 rolls together with rubber band and I can fit about 15 of these rolls in.

The most efficient way to clean blackpowder fouling is soap and water. The purpose of "moose milk", is the water cleans the fouling, and the ballistol remains after it evaporates. I alternate between doing both, but do whatever you like the most. Everybody cleans differently. Matpen_78.

I tried my homemade milk recipe I listed above with 777 powder. Yikes! Had fireball patches about 10 feet in front of me - then complete incineration/ashes. Funniest thing I ever saaw at the range. Could be the 91% alcohol content percentage - along with the hottest powder on the market created it.
